An intellectual (involving thought and
reason) is one who tries to use his or her intellect to work, study,
reflect, speculate, or ask and answer questions about a wide variety of
different ideas. My own definition of intellectual is someone who thinks
intensely on ideas and people who see the full picture and think beyond the
present. A person who is governed more by intellectual decisions than by
emotional decisions would do every single thing based on logic and facts
without considering their emotions or others emotions. This type of person
would never let their emotions drive them to make any life decisions. They usually make decisions to protect themselves or others.
One person who is truly governed more intellectual decisions than by emotional decisions is the President. The president must do what is right for our country meaning he has to make intellectual decisions. When it comes to his emotions he has to keep them in or to himself. If he does not then our country would be a mess because he would never be able to come to a decision. There are some positive and negative consequences of relying on your intellectual decisions than your emotions.
A positve consequence is the power to accomplish goals with a successful finish. A person will always be alert and think through every sitiuation. This person will never be in a bad situation because they will have a solution for everything by intensely thinking about it. A negative consequence is a person could become less sociable and closer to just their family. A person will start pushing their friends away and become lonely. People will start to think that person is a cold hearted person. If there is never any emotional input, then a person's life will be miserable and lonely. A person should always do what's best for them, but always keep others in mind so they can have a social life.

Companionship and Love
Companionship is a feeling of fellowship or friendship and love is an intense feeling of deep affection. One reason companionship is an important part of the human experience because if a person was to be the only human being on earth they would be very lonely. They would not know their true identity because there is nobody around them to shape it. A person might call themselve a nice person but they truly would not know untill somebody has confirmed it. It is the thanks to others that we can truly know who we are and then decide later on who we want to become.
If there was no love going around the world with people then it would be a loney and miserable world. We would not have family or friends because we would never build the relationship of love towards eachother. There would be no births because people would not be in love with eachother to go that far in the relationship. We would not have any pets because they would die from no love from their owners. We would not have anything because we would not bother to even care to try to love something so much to get it or want it.
Humans need eachother more then what we think. A person needs somebody to be there when they are struggling and it is usually somebody they love. It's like when a family has a special event like christmas dinner if a person just had dinner by themselve they would be lonely. Family is what makes the christmas dinner special to a person. Love and companionship are way deeper then human beings know if there was no love or companionship there would be no world.

Rejected
In today's world, people are often rejected because of who they are or what they look like or simply characteristics that are different from others around them. A person might be rejected because of their clothes, color of their skin, or simply their religion. A good example is Muslims because of the 9/11, people began to look at them very different, many times leading to the isolation and targeting of their people. Muslims might feel upset and frustrated that they are being judged by the way they look and what they believe. Which this discrimination also cultivates strong feelings of anger and hatred, sometimes leading to revenge.
Another situation is if somebody was going to a new school and didn't meet anyone. Especially if it is a girl going into middle school where they have all the cliques. Middle girls tend to be mean and nasty to somebody new in the school, because either the girl is cute or is better then them in something so jelousy tends to come around. In this situation, the new girl would fell very rejected because none of the girl want to be her friend. She would probably feel as if nobody wants her around and she would be very lonely. This could lead to not wanting to go somewhere new and meeting new people like getting a job or going to college.
A situation a person might feel repeatedly rejected is if he/she is not good at certain sport and is constantly gettting cut down or talked down or made fun of about it. Such as being laughed at or always picked last that could have a person very upset about the situation. This would result in hatred toward those who cut them down. Which later in life they would never try the sport they had a passion for and could have gotten better at because of the fear of being made fun of again. People really need to realize what they say because it could have a lasting effect of the person's life.

Taking Responsiblity
Responsibility is defined as being held accountable or to blame for someones actions. Personal responsibility is simple anything that a person, and that person alone has done or needs to do. In many situations people don't take full responsibility for things they should, and sometimes do take responsibility for things they had no type of control over. Someone who does not care about other people would most likely not take responsiblility for their actions. But someone who is kind and caring may feel like everything is there fault when really they had nothing to do with the situation.
If something bad happens when a person is involved in it, then they bear some type of responsibility. For example, when a little kid says a bad word because they repeated it from one of their siblings. This is not fully there fault because they repeated what they heard and was never taught not to say it. Their older sibling is responsible for the behavior of their younger sibling because he/she never told the kid that they are not to repeat it or say it was simply a bad word. Thats a situation when a person can blame their actions on another person because they simply was never taught about it.
One control his or hers actions, and nobody else is responsible for those actions. For instance, if someone is involved in an scam, he/she would be more responsible for it than if someone was just slightly involved in the scam. The slightly involved person is still slighty responsible for it and therefor should recieve slight consequences. Either way a person should take responsibility for any action they take. Direct actions require responsibility, indirect is beyond one's control and sight so one should not be held responsible for such thing.

Exploring the Unknown
Some ways in which people throughout
the ages have explored the unknown is by sailing on ships or finding out lots of information preparing their selfs for the journey to other places. Others have by exploring foods, music, literture and more. This helps us as Americans out by showing us the unknown and making us smarter.
Individuals devote themselves to a life of exploration and discovery because they want to do something somebody has never done. They want to call a discovery there's instead of looking or watching somebody else call it there's.
Some sacrifices the devotion involve is leaving family back. People who want to journey must leave their wifes or husbands or kids which can be a hard thing. Some people will have to forget about sleep because it can be to dangerous and they need to stay up through the bad things.
